{"id":49,"date":"2018-01-29T21:41:20","date_gmt":"2018-01-29T21:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dalserf-pri.s-lanark.sch.uk\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2018-02-26T19:52:27","modified_gmt":"2018-02-26T19:52:27","slug":"scottish-education-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.dalserf-pri.s-lanark.sch.uk\/?page_id=49","title":{"rendered":"Scottish Education Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-first-box\">\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/a\/a9\/Education_Scotland_logo.png\" width=\"239\" height=\"123\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The National Improvement Framework<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>\n<div id=\"ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl01__ControlWrapper_RichHtmlField\" class=\"ms-rtestate-field\">\n<p>\u200bThe National Improvement Framework is based on achieving excellence and equity for all, regardless of children&#8217;s social background and circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"ctl00_PlaceHolderMain_ctl02__ControlWrapper_RichHtmlField\" class=\"ms-rtestate-field\">\n<p>\u200bThe Framework\u00a0sets out four priority areas for change, which provide a shared focus for all partners to work together to make that vision a reality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"endPageContent\">\n<p>The National Improvement Framework for Scottish Education was announced in September 2015 and the final publication was launched by the First Minister of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon MSP, on 6 January 2016.<\/p>\n<p>There are four key priorities that everyone in Scottish education should be working towards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improvement in attainment, particularly in literacy and numeracy;<\/li>\n<li>Closing the attainment gap between the most and least disadvantaged children;<\/li>\n<li>Improvement in children&#8217;s and young people\u2019s health and wellbeing; and<\/li>\n<li>Improvement in employability skills and sustained, positive school leaver destinations for all young people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Framework identifies 6 key drivers of improvement \u2013 progress across all of these is needed to deliver the improvements we want to see for all children:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>School leadership<\/li>\n<li>Teacher professionalism<\/li>\n<li>Parental engagement<\/li>\n<li>Assessment of children\u2019s progress<\/li>\n<li>School improvement<\/li>\n<li>Performance information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Click on this link for more information&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/improvement\/Pages\/nifnationalimprovementframework.aspx\">National Improvement Framework<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" style=\"text-align: center;\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edubuzz.org\/dunbarprimary\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/529\/files\/2017\/05\/SAC.jpg\" width=\"224\" height=\"113\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pupil Equity Funding<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Pupil Equity Funding is funding that schools are allocated to provide the best possible opportunities for children\u2019s learning. It is intended to support children who experience barriers to learning and who might be falling behind or not getting the same chances in their education because their family is experiencing poverty or other financial difficulties. This money is given to schools as part of the Scottish Government\u2019s Scottish Attainment Challenge.<\/p>\n<p>This year Dalserf Primary has been allocated \u00a314400 and this will be used to help improvement attainment in literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing. Each school&#8217;s allocation is based on additional funding of \u00a31200 per child who is registered to receive free school meals.<\/p>\n<p>Please click on this link for further information.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"endPageContent\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.scot\/Resource\/0051\/00517052.pdf\">Pupil Equity Funding<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA)<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As from August 2017 Scottish school children will undertake National Standardised<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;The assessments will help to identify children\u2019s progress, providing diagnostic information to support teachers&#8217; professional judgement. \u00a0<\/em><em>Children and young people do not have to revise or prepare for these assessments.\u00a0The assessments are\u00a0as inclusive as possible to accommodate the needs of\u00a0children and young people who require additional support. There is no pass or fail.&#8217;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The assessments are web-based and are carried out in literacy and numeracy. Each assessment has 30-41 questions, and although there is no time limit each assessment usually takes between 30 and 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In Literacy reading, spelling, punctuation and grammar are assessed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>What do we need this information for?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This information is used alongside that gathered on a day-to-day basis by class teachers from observations and interactions with children.
